The Ink Language

In Unfold Studio, stories are written in a programming language called ink.

ink was designed to feel as much as possible like regular writing. You can write the same way you would write a story or a diary, and then you can add code to make the story interactive or turn it into a game. At its most basic, it can be used to write a Choose Your Own-style story, or a branching dialogue tree. But its real strength is in writing dialogues with lots of options and lots of recombination of the flow. It's also designed with redrafting in mind; so editing a flow should be fast.

The idea is to bring programming into your writing, not the other way around. This approach allows you to do new things with writing, and supports literacy-based computer science.
